Primary Objective
Under the direct supervision of the Recreation Supervisor, this position is expected to provide communication, leadership, and assistance for supervisors, participants, and employees, and the public.

This position will be primarily in office 12pm-4pm Monday-Friday but will have occasional evening and weekend duties, This position’s schedule will generally consist of around 20 hours per week during the summer and fall and 10-15 hours per week during the winter.

In addition, Part-Time may receive Paid-time Off (PTO) at rate outlined in employee handbook and eligable for paid parental leave after 6 months of employment.
Temporary/Seasonal employees do not receive benefits outside of Paid-time Off (PTO) at rate outlined in employee handbook.

Essential Functions Of The Position
Staff Coordination
- Provide leadership, direction, and onsite supervision for Facility Attendants and League Officials.
- Assist in scheduling staff
- Ensure rentals and programs are successful and held to city service delivery standards
- Serve as line of communication between attendants and supervisors for major on-site issues.
- Inform supervisors and document on-site program concerns including scheduling conflicts, maintenance needs, and all other pertinent program related issues.
- Verify locations that require lighting and coordinate the delivery of lights for those locations.
- Monitor unsupervised and unscheduled parks to provide communication and supervision for park users, as well as resolving facility use conflicts when necessary.
- Responsible for monitoring weather and field conditions.
- Educate facility users on facility policies and regulations.
- Inventory, organize, and coordinate supplies/equipment delivery for sports programs.
- Complete assigned program reports, nightly park logs, surveys, and evaluations.
- Gather and relay documented feedback from participants regarding programs and facilities.
- Work as a team member to ensure the program’s compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Minnesota Human Rights Act.
- Serve as a substitute Facility Attendant or Evening and Weekend Coordinator when necessary.
- Schedule and coordinate facility usage in person and through recreation software
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with staff, participants and supervisors.
- Represent the city at special events
- Help with front desk coverage when needed
- Complete all other duties as assigned by supervisors.
- The employee completes the essential functions of the position and other assigned duties in an effective, professional and timely manner.
- The employee has positive relationships with program participants, staff, and co-workers.
- The employee is able to demonstrate strong problem solving and customer service skills.
- The employee attended and participated in all staff training sessions and meetings.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License
- Experience in participating, planning and evaluating recreational sports programs
- Experience working in community recreation or athletic programs
- Problem solving techniques and abilities
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently as needed
- BA or BS in recreation programming or related field preferred
- Knowledge of maintenance requirements and procedures
- Experience with recreation software
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skill of staff supervision
