Provides training regarding work methods, procedures, utilizing specialized tools and equipment and all related safety aspects. Responds to complaints from the general public regarding Sanitary Sewer Overflows (SSO), status of work projects and related questions.
Ensures projects are completed and compliant with all specifications in a safe and efficient manner by scheduling duties, performing on-site inspections and assigning staff. Plans work assignments based on budget constraints, equipment needed, system backup availability and customer usage. Provides oversight to contractors performing duties as assigned.
Assists with the preparation and review of bid specifications for the purchase of large equipment, mechanical and electrical equipment and related components. Reviews and makes recommendations on the acceptance of bids for equipment. Inspects orders for conformance with specifications.
Ensures tools, equipment, cables and special machinery are maintained in good operating condition. Oversees installation of flow meters and repairs on manholes. Reviews Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) inspection results and prepares outside contractor rehabilitation projects or specifications for in-house construction work.

2 years of experience in a supervisory or lead position involving operations, maintenance and repair of sewage pump stations, hydraulic and electric pumps, motors and related components, as well as inspection, maintenance, repair, installation and testing of electronic equipment, including experience with remote radio control and telemetry circuits.

- High school diploma or equivalent and
- 3 years of directly related experience in the operation, construction and maintenance of wastewater collection system infrastructure, equipment and facilities, with experience in a lead position, or
- an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Knowledge of:;
- wastewater collection, geothermal heating, pressurized irrigation and drainage conveyance systems;
- flood control operation, construction, repair and maintenance programs;
- inspection, construction, maintenance and repair activities of wastewater collection systems;
- construction equipment, layout, grading and excavation;
- blueprint reading and schematics interpretation;
- principles and practices of employee supervision, training and performance evaluation;
- occupational hazards and standard safety precautions necessary in the assigned area of work;

First Aid and CPR Certifications.
Flagger certification.
