Citizen Information Clerk (Bilingual)

Clerical and Administrative Support
Provides first-line response and main front desk receptionist services for the City of Bryan Municipal Building.
Essential Job Functions
- Answers all incoming calls to the City’s main phone number and refers on as needed.
- Greets and provides information to people visiting the Municipal Office Building.
- Sorts and re-directs mail and packages.
- Serves as Relief Vital Statistics Technician, receiving, recording, and issuing birth and death certificates, amendments to birth and death certificates, name changes, and court ordered adoptions.
- Assists the Vital Statistics Technician with the maintenance and issuance of records.
- Assists with various assignments assigned by the City Secretary, Deputy City Secretary, and Neighborhood and Youth Outreach Coordinator.
- Performs duties related to Council meetings (both pre and post).
- Assists with Spanish translations with callers, visitors and some written material.
- Reports to work consistently and punctually.
- Performs related duties as required.
- High School Diploma or GED , plus some additional training and/or course work in business, public or office administration.
- At least one (1) year of directly related experience performing administrative, clerical, call center, retail, or similar office support responsibilities.
Equivalent combinations of education, experience, certification, and training may be considered.
Licenses, Certifications & Special Requirements
- Must possess fluent verbal and written bilingual skills (English/Spanish).
- Texas Class C driver’s license with a good driving record as measured by the City’s evaluation system.
