Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned areas to deter and detect criminal activity.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and incidents.
- Conduct thorough investigations of crimes and incidents, gathering evidence and writing detailed reports.
- Enforce laws and regulations while ensuring the rights of individuals are respected.
- Provide first aid and CPR as needed in emergency situations.
- Engage with the community through outreach programs to build trust and cooperation.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies during investigations or special operations.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills in leadership, report writing, loss prevention.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent. All transcripts required and submitted with the application.
- Applicants will be subject to background check.
- Applicants must have a Valid West Virginia Driver's License.
- Applicants must comply with all other laws, rules and regulations as prescribed in writing by the Code of the State of West Virginia and the Police Civil Service Commission of Buckhannon, West Virginia.
- Candidates that are successfully hired will be subject to residency requirements, drug test, physical, psychological and polygraph examination.
