The City of Buffalo is looking for talented workers to fill several seasonal positions. We are holding walk-in interviews March 11th and 25th at City Center 212 Central Ave Buffalo, MN 55313 from 3pm to 6pm.Please apply for the seasonal position you are interested in and you will be contacted via email to set up a time for your interview during the walk in interview sessions.The Office Assistant provides customer service and clerical assistance to Administration and various departments within the City of Buffalo. This position requires there be effective working relationships with other departments, city employees and the public.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Essential FunctionsAdministrative Responsibilities Prepares, scans, classifies, and uploads documents in Laserfiche per the City’s record retention schedule.Answers phones and responds to public inquiries using a professional and courteous manner to direct phone inquiries to the appropriate staff members. Greets the public and visitors to the City in a professional and friendly manner.Sorts incoming mail and delivers to appropriate department or individual; processes outgoing mail, accepts courier deliveries for distributionCopies, sorts, and files records related to office activities, business transactions, and other mattersOperates office machines including copiers, scanners, phone and voicemail systems, personal computers, and other standard office equipment. Performs Other Essential Job Responsibilities Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as apparent or assigned.

Environmental ConditionsOffice environment; exposure to computer screens; working closely with others, frequent interruptions. Physical ConditionsEssential and other important responsibilities and duties require maintaining a physical condition necessary for sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time; general manual dexterity; adequate hearing, vision and speech required; must be able to operate assigned equipment.
