As a Seasonal Maintenance I – Heart of the City worker, you’ll assist with park maintenance and safely operate city vehicles and equipment. Burnsville’s Heart of the City is a vibrant, 54-acre downtown district with Nicollet Commons Park, pedestrian-friendly spaces, and community events.

Your efforts will help keep our city running smoothly and efficiently, making essential contributions to operation and maintenance of our infrastructure.
This role is non-exempt (hourly) with a starting wage of $15.05-$17.95/hr., depending on qualifications. Both full-time and part-time hours are available. Full-time hours are Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Learn more about the Seasonal Maintenance – Heart of the City position here.
The Seasonal Maintenance - Heart of the City I worker values people and perspectives by:- Assisting with the maintenance of Heart of the City and Nicollet Commons Park for community use and enjoyment.
- Performing daily maintenance of the water feature and irrigation system.
- Assist with mowing, turf maintenance, and weed trimming.
- Contribute to landscaping, park development, and other special projects.
- Safely operating city vehicles and equipment, including mowers, pickup trucks, and small hand and power tools.
- Assisting staff with various park maintenance practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be 17 years of age or older.
- A valid Class D Driver’s License or eligibility to obtain one.
- Interest or background in local government and community service.
- Passion for developing your strengths and valuing diverse perspectives.
