The City of Caldwell is looking for a Pool Manager to oversee the day-to-day pool operations. Individual works closely with staff to ensure patron safety. Coordinates with recreation superintendent in recruiting staff and program planning. Manages training and implementation of swim lessons and swim events. This position is seasonal and located at Caldwell Memorial Pool. This position works under limited supervision.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Ensures pool staff understand and comply with policies and procedures. Maintains records of certifications. Reviews employee time records. Schedules and conducts regular swim facility staff meetings and training. Provides customer service to pool patrons. Processes daily admissions and lesson registrations. Enforces pool rules and has authority to ask patrons to leave the facility.Assigns instructors to lessons and supervises programs. Coordinates and implements swimming lessons. Monitors enrollment numbers and adjusts activities and staffing. Oversees the evaluation and testing of swimmers. Creates processes and issues progress reports and certificates of completion. Implements customer service process improvements from gathered feedback for staff. Supervises lifeguard and swim instructor staff. Schedules employees and evaluates performance. Performs cashiering duties and creates daily deposit. Uses a cash register or a computer with recreation software. Performs general pool maintenance and maintains proper chemical balance of the pool. Uses a test kit to check the chemical balance and notifies maintenance if action is needed. Maintains a safe pool, deck area, and office. Attends training to learn proper pool maintenance and safety techniques. Improves processes within aquatics and identifies aquatics needs. Provides available resources, facilities, supplies, and equipment. Performs monthly aquatics maintenance checklists. Ensures the cleanliness of the pool office and storage room. Updates operations, risk, safety, fecal, chemical log, manager, and swim lesson binders. Updates manager and staff communication boards. Maintains best practices, procedures, risk, safety, and communication. Performs other duties as assigned.
