Performs works responsible for operating heavy equipment in support of the repair and maintenance of the City of Cape Girardeau's stormwater infrastructure.

Performs works responsible for operating heavy equipment in support of the repair and maintenance of the City of Cape Girardeau's stormwater infrastructure.
Essential Functions
- Operates heavy equipment and vehicles used in the repair and maintenance of the stormwater infrastructure including stormwater pipes, inlets, drainages structures, manholes, detention basins and etc.
- Transports equipment to and from work sites.
- Assists with building forms, pouring concrete and finishing concrete for stormwater infrastructure.
- Performs snow and ice removal duties
- Responds to emergency call out situations as required.
- Assists with traffic control duties.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalency and three (3) years experience and a demonstrated proficiency in heavy equipment operations on construction site.
- Must comply with Missouri CDL requirements, must possess and maintain a valid Class “B” or better CDL.
- Bi-weekly pay periods.
- Twelve paid holidays per year.
- 96 hours of vacation – accrued throughout the year.
- 96 hours of sick leave – accrued throughout the year.
- 2 days of personal leave per fiscal year. Must be employed on July 1 of the fiscal year to receive.
- City paid monthly premiums for health and dental insurance – Employee only.
- City paid monthly life insurance for employee only (1 times annual salary up to $50,000).
- Optional group term life insurance purchased at employee's expense.
- Optional vision insurance purchased at employee's expense.
- Voluntary deferred compensation plan – not matched by the City.

- Total compensation value (Hourly starting rate plus benefits value) for this position is $28.26 hourly/$58,789 yearly.
