What are the responsibilities and job description for the Golf Course Grounds Crew - Part Time position at City Of Carmel?

Job Description

Are you ready to make a real impact on our stunning golf course? The City of Carmel is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our Golf Course Grounds Crew! This is a part time or seasonal position, schedule and hours may vary.

What you'll do :

Operate various types of equipment, including but not limited to walk behind mowers, triplex mowers, large area reel and rotary style mowers, blowers, sprayers, various heavy equipment and hand-held tools and equipment.
Ensure that the equipment cooling system is working at all times; refills fuel and oil daily; cleans equipment daily; and reports equipment problems or failures to Equipment Manager immediately.
Provide basic preventative maintenance on equipment as directed by the equipment manager or assistant superintendent. Returns equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility.
Perform other duties as assigned.

What we need you to know :

Knowledge of safe, efficient mechanical operation of tractors and other motorized equipment

Ability to operate within established guidelines.

Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor and coworkers.

Must posses mechanical aptitude.

Ability to exert heavy to extremely heavy physical effort on a regular, and at times sustained, basis, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing and / or pulling of objects and materials weighing up to 100 pounds.

Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, humidity, rain, standing water, fumes, severe weather,

Qualifications Required to Perform Essential Job Functions

Possession of a valid driver's license.

Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
