Games are typically Monday - Thursday evenings.
Rate of pay is per game .

Incumbents are responsible for officiating sporting events, games, and / or competitions in an assigned adult sport.
REPORTING STRUCTURE :
Receives direction from assigned supervisor or higher-level management staff.
Typical Class Essential Duties
1. Officiates adult sporting events, games, and / or competitions by enforcing the rules of the game and assessing penalties when necessary.
2. Inspects sporting equipment and / or examines participants in order to ensure compliance with event and safety regulations.
3. Monitors the behavior, play, and actions of players before, during, and after the game to maintain safety, sportsmanship, and general protocol.
4. Keeps track of event times, starting or stopping play when necessary.
5. Operates scoring devices; reviews and validates score sheets.
6. Settles claims of infractions or complaints by participants.
7. May assist with the set-up and break-down of athletic events and games.
8. Provides general customer service and communicates with the public regarding fees, policies, rules, and general information about the facility or event.
9. Represents the City of Casper by responding to the public, citizens, its employees, and others in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner while continuously maintaining a positive customer service demeanor.
10. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

o A National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) certification.
Certification requirements for sports officials do not apply to recreational sports programs that do not have official certification programs.

Employment with the City of Casper is contingent upon a successful background screen and pre-employment drug test. Physical and Environmental Conditions :
City of Casper employees in data creation and modification, security sensitive or safety and protective positions are subject to pre-employment drug testing. Some employees may be subject to random drug testing if their responsibilities include :
Positions in this class typically require stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Jogging, running, or ice skating may be required depending on the sport being officiated.
Light Work : Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and / or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and / or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
Incumbents may officiate in an environment that has inadequate lighting, intense noise, extreme temperatures, contact injury, and exposure to dust or chemicals depending on the nature of the sport being officiated. Employees may also be subject to environmental hazards such as disruptive or angry people or responding to stressful conditions, including providing first aid.
