This position will be required to work a flexible schedule, including evenings/weekends with on-call rotations and overtime, as needed.
- Provides premier customer service to internal and external customers by responding to requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensures efficient operations of facilities systems by checking and servicing systems and changing air conditioner filters. Services air conditioning systems by making repairs to air conditioning and heating equipment, performing preventative maintenance, changing filters, cleaning units and inspecting systems.
- Services electrical systems by replacing switches, plugs, equipment control, circuit breakers and faulty wiring.
- Performs carpentry duties by painting and plastering walls, repairing doors, wallpaper, and sheetrock.
- Maintains lighting services by changing bulbs and replacing defective parts such as conventional and electronic ballast, photocells, timer and switches, sockets and wiring.
- Administers general repairs by providing repair services such as door and window, leaks, roofing, painting, carpentry, sheetrock repairs, tool and equipment repairs and cabinet and counter repairs.
- Administers plumbing repairs by fixing leaks in faucets, valves and water fountains, clearing drains such as sinks, toilets and mains and repairing fixtures.
- Oversees the implementation and monitors the work of contracts with service contractors.
- Oversee and supervise work and assist as needed with repairs and cleanliness of the Recreation Center.
- Provides direction to employees by monitoring and observing work activities, scheduling employees for shifts and ensuring quality control of job tasks. Directly supervises Government Center custodial staff. Serves as a role model to employees and effectively hires, trains, coaches, disciplines, develops and evaluates employees. Achieves desired results through effective leadership and appropriate influence, and adheres to established policies and procedures. Plans and supervises projects, schedules workload and projects for crews, and distributes work orders.
- Oversees and assists with building rental setups and breakdowns.
- Regular attendance required, including rotating shifts, evenings, weekends, holidays and on call as needed.
- Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency.
- At least three years of related experience required.
- Valid Texas Driver's License (Class C); HVAC certification preferred.
- EPA Universal Technician Certification or ability to obtain this license within six months of employment is required.
- Possession of, or the ability to obtain American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED certification within 6 months of hire required.
