What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Attendant position at City of Chaska?
The Event Attendant will work closely with the Curling & Event Center Supervisor and Coordinator to provide excellent customer service and positive event experiences. This role will serve as the onsite contact for event clients, guests, and vendors during scheduled events.
The intended hourly rate for this position upon hiring is $17.76 - $19.98, depending on qualifications.
- Actively monitor Event Center and building spaces during scheduled events. Maintain presence in the event space and front office. Answer questions from patrons and provide excellent customer service
- Assist patrons with Event Center needs and questions, including the use of audio-visual (A/V) equipment.
- Ensure building rules and regulations are followed throughout the facility by all patrons, security personnel, vendors, and caterers.
- Assist patrons with incoming inquiries and questions regarding the curling facility, event space, and Crooked Pint restaurant.
- Communicate confidently and respectfully with staff, event guests, vendors, and building patrons.
- Communicate with other Curling & Event Center staff in a timely manner regarding any needed changes to scheduled shifts and facility issues.
- Maintain building cleanliness (glass, entry way, carpets, restrooms, etc.). Replenish restroom supplies as needed. Remove trash and recycling from Event Center receptacles.
- Open/close the Event Center. Ensure all doors are properly secured when the facility is closed.
- Provide detailed end-of-shift reports to direct supervisors at the completion of each shift.
- Other related duties as requested or assigned.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 18 years of age
- 1 year of customer service experience
- Post-secondary degree in hospitality
- Previous hospitality, catering, or event rental experience
- CPR/AED certified, or willing to obtain certification
- Flexibility to work a variety of hours including early mornings, evenings, nights, and/or weekends
- Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate with people of diverse cultural backgrounds
- Ability to manage, monitor and assist with events that have a large number of guests (up to 300)
- Basic audio-visual equipment knowledge, or willingness to learn
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and work safe, smart, and efficiently
- Ability to collaborate with team members to improve patron experience, operational efficiency, etc.
