Job Description
This is a special project position.
The City of Chesapeake is seeking a Part-Time Human Resources Specialist to join our HR team and support employee health and wellness initiatives. This role offers hands-on experience in developing events and activities, creating marketing materials, working as part of a team, and interacting directly with employees to deliver wellness services.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Facilitate wellness events such as monthly health huts, healthy food breaks, flu shot clinics, and health screenings.
Assist with wellness program delivery by researching data, preparing handouts/materials, utilizing scheduling tools and event coordination.
Market and promote programs through the development of flyers, handouts, emails, newsletters, and website content using Canva and Outlook.
Provide monthly educational information to City employees aligned with Wellness Calendar.
Evaluate program initiatives, analyze outcomes, report results, and make recommendations.
Process employee wellness incentives.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
As a part-time employee, you will be expected to provide excellent customer service in a professional and positive manner. This includes effective communication skills, multitasking, providing accurate program information, and promptly addressing any issues or complaints to enhance our image and program operations. The successful candidate will be required to work 25 hours per week.

Required Qualifications
VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONALREQUIREMENT:
Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in human resources, management, public administration, or a closely related field.
EXPERIENCEREQUIREMENT:
In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of one year of related, full-time equivalent experience.
SPECIALCERTIFICATIONSANDLICENSES:
Requires a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is in compliance with the City Driving Standards.
SPECIALREQUIREMENTS:
