What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead GIS Analyst/CAD Technician position at City of Chesterfield?
Position Summary
Perform technical mapping, drafting, and data management services, as requested. Establish standards, processes, and provide guidance for field technicians and GIS analyst/CAD technicians.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Work with ESRI software to collect, manage, analyze, visualize, process and maintain geospatial and attribute data.
Review/create layouts, drafts, reports, and tools associated with exhibits, maps, plats, surveys, legal descriptions, construction plans, plats, surveys.
Responsible for maintaining data, metadata, database updates and assisting with data collection and processing for use in geographic information systems (GIS).
Correct user problems, prepare instructions for databases and applications to assist end users. Create and maintain procedures and processes for repeatable tasks.
Perform necessary programming updates and modifications to Access Database programs for Planning and Public Works Departments.
Review inspections and coordinate with field technicians and senior engineering technicians. Prepare data for collection and evaluate and process field collected and downloaded data.
Develop table structures for back-end relational databases and provide data management services and support to IT Division for GIS programming and GIS system server updates.
Coordinate with IT for GIS programming and GIS system server updates. Consult with IT and St. Louis County to support GIS addressing and parcel updates.
Establish standards for use within City maps and databases. Serve as primary contact for work requests as directed by the IT Director. Work closely with GIS administrator to identify necessary changes to the GIS structure.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Access; Autodesk AutoCAD; ESRI ArcGIS Pro, and other specialized GIS and mapping related software required. Highly organized, with familiarity and experience collecting, validating, analyzing and maintaining large amounts of data. Ability to manage multiple work assignment requests and support service needs, from a variety of sources with varying deadline dates. Provide clear direction and support to GIS analyst/CAD Technicians and field technicians as needed.
