(40 Hours/Week)
Salary: Grade 8L, Step 05 - $21.31/Hour Licenses
Schedule: Mon-Fri 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Summer Sweeping Hours 5AM -1 :30 PM from
April 15th to October 15th
Certifications/Licenses Required: Valid Massachusetts CDL Class A License, Massachusetts 2B Hoisting License, High School Diploma/G.E.D. or one to three (1-3) months related experience and/or training.
SUMMARY
The City of Chicopee’s Department of Public Works – Highway Division is hiring a Special MEO who will run semi-heavy equipment such as sweepers, sanders and trucks, who may also operate heavy equipment and performs maintenance and laborer work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE:

Working hours to flex for Street Sweeping:
- Regular work day Monday through Friday 7 AM-3:30 PM
- Summer Sweeping Hours 5AM -1 :30 PM from April 15th to October 15th
- Operates semi-heavy equipment.
- Operates heavy equipment.
- Drives truck.
- Performs maintenance duties.
- Supervises work crews occasionally.
- Plows and removes snow, salt streets.
- Must be available for overtime during emergencies.
- Abide by City of Chicopee Health and Safety policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Massachusetts CDL Class A. – Required
- Massachusetts 2B Hoisting License. – Required
- Massachusetts 2A Hoisting License. – Preferred
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. or one to three (1-3) months related experience and/or training.
- Experience in operating semi-heavy and heavy equipment.
