What are the responsibilities and job description for the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ASSISTANT MANAGER (NONCOMPETITIVE) position at City of Cincinnati?
A well-qualified candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate experience in management of IT professionals, projects, and applications systems. They will coach team members toward success, encourage and facilitate collaboration with other IT teams and with MSD business units, and actively clear obstacles as they arise.

Knowledge of:
Principles of municipal budget preparation and control.
Principles of human resources management, supervision, training, and performance evaluation.
Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.

Each applicant must have three years of experience as a Computer Systems Analyst with the City of Cincinnati. Each applicant must also have a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in computer science/information processing, mathematics, statistics, quantitative analysis, or a related field.
OREach applicant must have eight years of experience in an Information Technology classification with the City of Cincinnati. Each applicant must also have an associate degree from an accredited college or university in computer science/information processing, mathematics, statistics, quantitative analysis, or a related field.
OR
Each applicant must have a minimum of five years of supervisory/management-level professional work experience in Information Technology. Each applicant must also have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science/information processing, mathematics, statistics, quantitative analysis, or a related field.
OR
Each applicant must have five years of experience within the information technology industry and two years of supervisory/management-level professional work experience. Additionally, each applicant must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science/information processing, mathematics, statistics, quantitative analysis, or a related field
An equivalent combination of education, training, certifications, and military or other demonstrable experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS Must be an excellent communicator and team builder. Must pass security clearance.
Background Investigation: A criminal background investigation will be conducted for this position (according to Civil Service Commission Rule 15 – Sensitive Classifications/Positions and the Critical Infrastructure Protection Act of 2001 and the Patriot Act). The purpose is to detect security risks and prevent security threats posed by potential employees.
U.S. Citizenship: All positions with the City of Cincinnati require that each applicant be a citizen of the United States or have a valid permanent resident card at the time of appointment (date of hire).
