TARGET ENTRY SALARY: $74,027.63 - $81,430.39 DOQ
Under limited direction, the Building & Maintenance Assistant Manager provides supervision and oversight of all work performed by supervisors and field crews for the Building & Maintenance operations. Maintains records and recordkeeping, monitors activities, and provides training and compliance management.
Essential Functions: -- Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following representative duties, knowledge, and skills. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:- Coordinates renovation and maintenance of City facilities; coordinates with all departments, vendors, and staff in providing an aesthetically pleasing and safely functioning facilities.
- Manages, monitors, and documents all employee hours; facilitates employee success through appropriate training, evaluation, feedback, and discipline; stays abreast of personnel conflicts and provides resolution.
- Assists in performing site visits to monitor progress and address concerns or challenges.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates the policies and procedures that supports the Training Program, Standard Operating Guidelines, Maintenance Program, and Safety Program; communicates updates, changes, and revisions to employees, crews, and administrative staff.
- Purchases, monitors, and ensures adequate supplies, equipment, and materials for maintaining accurate inventory figures.
- Understands and utilizes performance management reporting and analysis to maximize operational opportunity and maximize staffing resources with measurable outcomes.
- Oversees, coordinates, and empowers staff of division work; utilizes independent thought and judgement.
- Manages and coordinates the work on software such as Freshworks Work Order System; makes sure software is updated to accomplish operational needs.
- Creates and presents oral and written reports describing work that is completed, work that is in process, software dashboard data interpretations, project cost estimates, accidents, and other incidents.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
A valid State driver’s license is required.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or a related field AND three (3) years of experience in building repair and maintenance work with one (1) year of which shall have been in an administrative/supervisory capacity and preferably in a position of authority in dealing with the public; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
