About this opportunity :
Under the direction of the Facility Director plans, schedules, supervises, monitors, and participates in the day-to-day general maintenance and repair of Salvation Army buildings, grounds, and equipment; negotiates, supervises, and monitors all contracted maintenance services; ensures all equipment remains in proper working order and compliance with standard operating procedures and safety standards; assists with department budget and monitors expenditures to meet budget objectives; operates Salvation Army vehicles to pick-up and / or deliver materials, guests, and staff.
Key Responsibilities :
- Plans, prioritizes, schedules, assigns, participates, and supervises the work of staff performing maintenance, janitorial, and / or housekeeping work; trains and instructs employees in the proper methods and procedures; monitors work in progress and upon completion to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Plans, prioritizes, supervises, participates in, and monitors the preventative maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, utility equipment, and appliances; schedules and conducts routine inspections of kitchen appliances, maintenance tools and equipment, as well as heat and air conditioning systems, elevators, telephone, security, and fire alarm systems on a routine basis to ensure the long life of the same.
- Supervises and monitors all contract services such as lawn maintenance, pest control, street lighting, and utilities services; ensures vendor complies with terms of contract; determines need for contractors, solicits and reviews bids.
- Supervises and participates in the maintenance of grounds, structures, fixtures, and decor through additions, repairs, adjustments, painting, or replacement.
- Maintains an inventory of maintenance supplies tools, equipment, maintains inventory of all Salvation Army property serial numbers.
- Reviews, monitors, and maintains all product warranties and guarantees to ensure maintenance and repair work is conducted in compliance with the same.
- Opens / closes building as scheduled; maintains all facility flags and signage; displays special signs as needed.
What we are looking for in you :
Education and Experience
Two years course work from a vocational or technical school in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, and construction trades,
three years progressively responsible experience performing skilled maintenance and repair work for commercial buildings and grounds with six months in a supervisory capacity,
Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
