This position is a supervisory position that requires you to assist in the supervision of the facility, its employees and its patrons.NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESAt least 18 years of ageRequires knowledge of lifeguard skills and safety programsAbility to supervise and motivate employeesAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departmental employees and with the general publicRequires the ability to swimAbility to supervise and motivate employeesAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departmental employees and with the general publicMust be able to motivate others, lead by example, and work under stressful conditionsBi-lingual (English/Spanish) skills are preferredEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh school graduate or equivalent; ORAny equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilitiesMust have at least one (1) year of previous Lifeguard experienceCERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIREDA Valid Class C Texas driver license and the ability to maintain a satisfactory driving recordLifeguard Instructor Certification is preferredMust have obtain and possess current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate (training provided by City);Must obtain and possess current CPR/AED and First Aid certificates (training provided by City);Aquatic Facility Operator or Certified Pool Operator is preferredENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND SAFETY HAZARDSPrimarily in Outdoor environment with the ability to operate indoor and outdoor when needed. May be exposed to extreme heat and cold during summer and winter months.TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USEDStandard office equipment including multi-line telephone, computer, fax machine, copier, scanner, printer, etc.Aerators for pool, pumps, chemical feeders, concession stand equipment, and pool vacuums
