What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cain Park Operations Manager position at City of Cleveland Heights?
Directly responsibly to the General Manager. Supervise maintenance staff members, delegating assigned responsibilities to appropriate people and checking their work after it has been completed.
- Schedule maintenance and Operations staff members according to Cain Park’s and staff members’ needs.
- Discuss and coordinate with the Operations Assistants the need for any extra maintenance staff for events.
- Run the weekly Cain Park Staff Heads meetings.
- Eligible to dispense Petty Cash as needed to staff members who have adequately completed the necessary paperwork.
- In direct communication with our on-site concessionaire for all deliveries, refrigerated truck needs/placement and staff parties.
- Responsible for ending the Opening Night festivities for the theater show, if applicable.
- Responsible for making sure the security system for the park is working properly.
- Distributes security codes to Staff Heads.
- Responsible for the scheduling and delivery of the courtesy vehicles for the Cain Park season and the additional golf carts for Arts Festival.
- Responsible for training all staff members on the safe operation of the Courtesy Vehicles.
- Maintain high safety levels at all times for Park patrons, volunteers, and employees.
- Coordinate with the Events Production Manager all security needs for large concerts.
- Conduct daily surveys of the Park grounds/spaces and evaluate what areas need attention and, after discussion, assign these responsibilities.
- In charge of maintenance and upkeep for all on-site vehicles and equipment, including, but not limited to ensuring that there is enough gas/oil/mix on site to service all vehicles/equipment, coordinating the repair of any broken vehicles/equipment, cleaning of all on-site vehicles, and filling all on-site vehicles with gas/oil/water.
- Purchase needed supplies and/or equipment as needed such as table covers, garbage bags, poison ivy killer, oil, staples, etc. Or order from City.
- Generally responsible for the Arts Festival with assistance from the General Manager.
- Direct contact for all staffs during the Arts Festival with possibly the exception of the Box Office and their regular daily functions.
- Responsible for scheduling the delivery and pick up of the copy machine at the beginning and end of the season in conjunction with the General Manager.
- Assist the General Manager with the interviewing and hiring of Cain Park staff members as needed.
- Assist the General Manager during the off season as needed and allowed depending on contract and schedule.
- Responsible for collecting the information and creating the Seasonal staff contact sheet, the Off-Season contact sheet and the Emergency Contact sheet.
- Coordinate with the General Manager and Assistant to the GM, the schedule of the staff for Arts Festival.
- Assist the General Manager and Asst. to the GM with the hiring of all Arts Festival over hire staff.
- Work the Crossroads for Arts Festival.
- Responsible for educating and training of all Cain Park staff on Emergency Procedures.
- Onsite for all large events.
- Function as direct contact for all other City departments who work along side Cain Park staff during the season including, Public Works and Parks and Rec.
- Coordinate with Public Works the emptying of the dumpsters on a week basis.
- Direct Supervisor for the Operations Assistants, Maintenance Staff and House Managers.
- Coordinate with the Ops staff, the weekly emptying of the money from the pop machines and the re-stocking of beverages.
- Maintain an accurate account of the money collected from the pop machines.
- Responsible for creating and implementing a daily check list for the Maintenance Staff.
- Coordinate a nightly check list for the Operations staff.
- Create and distribute a weekly operations schedule that includes all applicable staff.
- Responsible for coordinating and assembling the Employee packet with assistance from the General Manager.
- Assist City employees with repairs to Cain Park facilities.
- assist the General Manager and Operations Coordinators with the general starting up of the Cain Park.
- Act on behalf of the General Manager if/when he is not onsite in conjunction with the Administrative Assistant with regard to contractual agreements with artists, weather related emergencies, patron related emergencies, and generally uphold the policies, rules as a representative of the City of Cleveland Heights.
- Prior to receipt of the final paycheck, you will be required to submit a written final report summarizing the season, with suggestions for future improvement. This report must include a full end-of-season inventory of all production equipment and materials, supplies on hand, and their approximate value.
- Any other reasonable duties as assigned by the General Manager
- High school graduate, some college experience preferred
- Previous management experience a plus
- Positive, helpful attitude and calm demeanor, including the ability to speak clearly and convey information accurately
- Must have a valid Ohio driver's license
- Must be able to work nights and/or weekends
