SALARY: The prevailing salary for this position as established by Ordinance of the Council of the City of Cleveland is $15.33 - $33.12 per hour.
EXPERIENCE EVALUATION: An experience evaluation consists of a quantitative evaluation of an Applicant’s academic training and experience pertinent to the classification for which an examination is taken, based on the statement of experience as recorded on the candidate’s application and on academic training based on required credentials.
Examples of Duties
Under direction, takes a responsible part in the planning, managing, and coordinating of specific activities and personnel engaged in acquisition, site improvement, and disposition of land in urban renewal project areas. TYPICAL TASKS: Supervises the activities required to provide adequate execution of acquisition, site improvement, and redevelopment activities in project areas. Initiates and administers advertising and promotion programs to publicize the availability and desirability of land for redevelopment. Answers inquiries relating to the purchase and/or disposition of property by the Department of Community Development. Prepares progress reports and other statistical data on proper matters as required by the regional office of H.U.D. Establishes a system of record keeping and administrative detail necessary to reflect an up-to-date record of transactions involving the purchase and sale of land. Assists in the evaluation of prospective buyers and the suitability of proposed plans for redevelopment. Assists in insuring that all plans for redevelopment comply with the standards of the project as well as with local codes and ordinances. Meets with and advises property owners remaining in the redeveloped areas of required modifications of their property necessary to meet redevelopment standards. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Law, or a related field from an accredited four year college or university required. Four years of experience in the sale, purchase, or redevelopment of land, land appraisal and/or a related area with a thorough, technical knowledge of the process of urban development, two years of which must be in redevelopment and land appraisal. (Substitution: Additional technical training beyond the stated minimum may be substituted as appropriate.) Valid State of Ohio Driver's License required.

In accordance with the Ordinances of the City of Cleveland: A person who has had as his/her primary residence in the City of Cleveland for at least one year at the time of filing a Civil Service application, and desires to take an entry-level Civil Service examination, shall, if a passing grade on the written examination is attained, have ten (10) points added to his/her passing score. (NOTE: Not all Examinations consider residency credit in the scoring process) To substantiate a claim for residency points, Applicants must UPLOAD LEGIBLE COPIES of the following:

VETERANS’ PREFERENCE
Veterans' preference will be awarded, when applicable, to eligible veterans in accordance with Civil Service Rules 4.40E, 4.40F and 4.40G. Proof of active service or a DD Form 214, must be presented to the Commission at the time of filing application for the examination in which credit is sought in order to qualify for veterans' credit. If the applicant has received an honorable discharge or a general discharge under honorable conditions that applicant shall receive an additional five (5) points added to their raw score on the examination; or ten (10) points are added to their raw score on the examination if applicant’s supporting documentation indicates more than fifteen percent (15%) service-connected disability.
NOTE: Only DD Form 214 (long form) or an official armed service document indicating type of discharge or separation and the dates of active service will be accepted as proof of active service.
