What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Finance Coordinator position at City of Cleveland?
The Senior Finance Coordinator will play a critical role in ensuring the fiscal and regulatory integrity of the City of Cleveland Department of Economic Development's fund accounts and budgets. The role involves being responsible for managing, directing and coordinating financial, accounting, and related administrative functions for the department. The position will also work as an intermediary between the Director, Assistant Director, Fiscal Manager and the Chief of Integrated Development in helping to draft budgets and monitor spending for different sources of funds. Working conditions are primarily in an office environment. Exercises direct supervision over assigned staff.
Duties and Tasks:
Assists in the preparation of the fiscal budget and monitors all expenditures of the department. Manages the accounting functions to ensure proper control and recording of financial transactions. Assists in developing departmental policies and procedures which affect budget, accounting, and other financial transactions. Manages continuous improvement of internal accounting and administrative controls for the safeguarding of the City's and Department's assets. Serves as liaison among divisions, departments, and outside groups having an interest in financial matters. Manages the development of financial analysis and advises on forecasting of revenue and expenditures. Assists in adherence to all applicable fiscal policies and procedures. Provides technical guidance and direction, and coordinates training for departmental staff on an as needed basis. Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required. Performs other related duties as required.
Additional Qualifications
A High School Diploma or GED is required. A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field is required. Seven years of full time paid progressively responsible accounting experience, two years of which supervisory experience is required. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook) and dedicated to maintaining high ethical standards.
