What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bag Room/Cart Attendant - Golf Course position at City of Clewiston?
WORK OBJECTIVE:
Performs routine public relations and maintenance duties involving the clubhouse, golf carts, and assisting golf course patrons with the loading and unloading of golf bags.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Morning Attendant’s Duties:
- Cleans golf carts thoroughly.
- Puts buckets of sand, scorecards and pencils on carts.
- Loads and unloads golf bags.
- Cleans golf clubs.
- Cleans sidewalks, patios, and outdoor furniture.
- Cleans restrooms, filling toilet, soap, and hand towel dispensers.
- Keeps air conditioner and water fountain and surrounding area clean.
- Disposes garbage.
- Maintains building exterior and bag room.
- Waters plants and shrubs.
- Checks water on course.
Afternoon Attendant’s Duties:
- Picks up range balls and baskets.
- Loads and unloads golf bags.
- Empties ashtrays.
- Cleans carts thoroughly.
- Puts buckets of sand, scorecards and pencils on carts.
- Checks beer inventory, Fills drink cooler daily.
- Empties locker room trash cans daily.
- Plugs in carts and puts down rain tops.
- Locks all doors before leaving grounds.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively and pleasantly with patrons and co—workers.
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete Page 2 variables in standardized situations.
- Capable of following instructions.
- Capable of attendance and promptness within established parameters.
- Capable of being courteous to customers.
