What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aquatics Admission & Concessions position at City of Clive (IA)?
Under the administrative direction of the Recreation Coordinator, or Recreation Supervisor, performs a wide variety of procedures necessary for the admission and concession functions of the park facilities. Job entails operation of the Aquatic Center admissions system, various concession equipment, computerized cash register, making change, answering phones, and performing other front line duties as required.
Examples of Essential Job Functions- To represent the City facility in a positive manner.
- Adhere to all guest relation policies and provide a pleasant entry/exit experience.
- Keep admission and concession areas clean and safe.
- Perform daily cleaning of work area and food preparation machines. Assist others in keeping each facility clean and free of litter.
- Prepare and maintain all concession items according to the instructions.
- Make and return the appropriate change when handling money.
- Check each patron entering the pool for payment or pass, answer any admissions questions. Remind all swimmers to shower prior to entering the pool.
- Contact a supervisor for approval on unusual or prohibited toys.
- Must wear staff uniform while on duty.
- Do not allow loitering in the entryway or around the admissions or concessions windows.
- Be alert and report any witnessed dishonest practices.
- Answer all incoming phone calls pleasantly, take messages for staff and patrons.
- Total receipts and run reports assigned by the manager at the end of work shift and throughout the day as requested.
- Enforce all general rules in a courteous manner and refer all guest concerns to the supervisor on duty.

Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
Education Required
- Continued education in High School or above.
- Must hold current Water Safety Instructor certification.
Experience Desired
- Any work in recreation facilities preferred.
- Current Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR certification recommended.
- Prior work with children recommended.

Physical Characteristics of the Job
Medium work requiring the exertion of up to fifty (50) pounds of force occasionally and up to twenty-five (25) pounds of force frequently.
Environmental Characteristics
The work is performed both inside and outside and includes seasonal exposure to heat and cold. The work may expose the employee to unpleasant social situations, significant work pace pressures and at times irregular work hours.
