Under supervision, keep assigned fleet vehicles clean and orderly; and to perform related work as required. - Examples of Duties
Example of duties include but are not limited to: clean, vacuum and wash vehicles; service interior transit bus equipment as needed; move vehicles around worksite for cleaning and servicing; operate vehicles for travel to public transit bus stops for service and cleaning using vehicle-mounted pressure washer; proper use, storage and maintenance of supplies and equipment; recognize, report and correct unsafe conditions and perform related work as required.
- Typical Qualifications
LICENSE REQUIRED
Possession of a valid California Driver's License and a good driving record.
Desirable:
- Possession of a valid California Commercial Driver's License.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education:- Education sufficient to ensure the ability to read and write at the level required for successful job performance.
- Six (6) months of work experience, internship, or volunteer experience in any field.
- This position requires individuals to perform their work in the early morning hours on the weekends.
Qualifications
Knowledge of:- Modern vehicle care and cleaning techniques;
- Routine record keeping procedures.
- Practice appropriate safety precautions and procedures;
- Operate a vehicle observing legal and defensive driving practices;
- Maintain simple records;
- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships in the course of work;
- Understand and carry out oral and written directions;
- Perform routine vehicle cleaning tasks and safely operate associated equipment and machines;
- Be flexible and receptive to change.
