About the Job: Perform professional level duties in the development, installation, integration, documentation, testing, and maintenance of websites, applications and database systems. Perform a variety of analytical duties and oversee the City's web presence relative to assigned areas of responsibility. Work is performed under the direction of the IT Applications Manager.
Hours of Work: Monday through Thursday 7:00am to 6:00pm.
Days and hours are subject to change depending on needs of the department.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, telecommunications, math, engineering, business or related discipline; supplemented by five (5) or more years of progressively responsible .NET development experience, including object-oriented programming, proficiency in T-SQL programming and database scripting, applications analysis and support.
Must have a state of Florida driver license, class E.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (up to 20 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station.
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Tasks are regularly performed inside without potential for exposure to adverse conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, fumes and/or poor ventilation, wetness, humidity, rain, temperature and noise extremes, machinery and/or moving vehicles, vibrations, electric currents, animals/wildlife, toxic/poisonous agents, gases or chemicals, oils and other cutting fluids, violence and/or disease, or pathogenic substances.
SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Some tasks require manual dexterity, in addition to visual and hearing acuity. Some tasks may involve identifying and distinguishing colors.

- Design, develop, and maintain both new and existing code.
- Writing scalable code for .NET web applications.
- Examines and evaluates user requirements and develop technical solutions.
- Monitors database performance, including stored procedures and execution time; implements efficiency improvements.
- Support various business applications including ERP, EDMS and web applications.
- Creates detailed application and business process documentation.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge with current technologies and technical developments.
- Acts as a consultant and liaison for users and ensures that problems are handled appropriately by prioritizing internally and working with staff/vendors to ensure timely resolution.
- Interacts extensively with internal and external users.
- Exhibit strong analysis, oral, and written communication skills.
- Provides feedback to customers and to IT managers as necessary.
- Serves as administration and technical support of the City's internet and intranet sites.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Skilled in designing, developing, testing, and implementing complex application solutions using ASP.NET (VB.NET), Classic ASP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, and other relevant programming languages using Visual Studio.
- Skilled in database server design, installation, configuration and support of Microsoft SQL Server.
- Strong experience with SQL/T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, views.
- Ability to actively participate in scoping, requirement gathering, and estimating effort for new development projects.
- Ability to architect and design software programs to align with project goals, encompassing UI/UX, application logic, and data models.
- Ability to investigate and troubleshoot technical and performance issues for both web-based front-end and back-end applications.
