What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Lifeguard position at City of College Station?
- Monitor patrons at swimming pool and work to prevent accidents by enforcing all pool rules and regulations.
- Respond quickly to all emergency situations and administer first aid and CPR to accident victims as necessary.
- Communicate with lifeguards the need for assistance and equipment.
- Assist with facility security and safety.
- Assist with facility operations, inventory and maintenance.
- Assist with filtration processes and chemical application.
- Maintain proper documentation related to employment, guests and facilities.
- Assist with staff training, special events, and revenue processing.
- Serve as Pool Manager when Pool Manager is not on duty.
- Attend required training sessions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required:
Sixteen (16) years of age or older. Ability to receive and maintain an American Red Cross Lifeguard certification that includes cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for the professional rescuer, as well as First Aid and AED certifications within 60 days of employment. 20/20 vision, corrected or uncorrected. Hearing within the normal range, corrected or uncorrected. Available to work weekends, holidays and evenings. Available to work until the pool closes at the end of the summer. Maintain fitness and skill proficiency in all Red Cross lifeguard skill and accident preventions.
Preferred:
Ability to receive and maintain an American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certification within 60 days of employment.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Drug Screening: Due to the safety and/or security sensitive nature of this position, individuals shall be subject to pre-employment or pre-placement drug and/or controlled substance testing as outlined in City policy.
