What are the responsibilities and job description for the Planner position at City of Colleyville?
Under general supervision, the Planner performs technical work collecting, organizing, reviewing, evaluating, and reporting planning data in conjunction with and for other Community Development staff members. This position provides support to various boards and commissions and to internal and external customers.

- Assists in planning studies and reports in support of new and updated plans, programs, and regulations.
- Reviews or assists in the review of moderately difficult development proposals and site plans for conformance with codes, plans, and regulations.
- Prepares and presents detailed reports on development proposals to government bodies as needed.
- Collects a variety of statistical data to be used in the preparation of reports and maps on topics such as census information, land use, tax base data, and occupancy rates.
- Assists in the evaluation of rezonings, ordinance amendments, site plans, special use permits, variances and other proposals.
- Acts as liaison between community groups, government agencies, developers and elected officials in preparing for commission meetings.
- Coordinates community review of public and private development projects.
- Provides information to the public regarding development regulations.
- Assists in citizen and customer inquiries of information.
- Collects and maintains information for departmental databases.
- Reviews staff level site plans for conformance with City ordinances and policies.
- Prepares zoning verification information and creates documentation of zoning upon request.
- Processes and manages department’s invoices, returns, escrows, payroll, and check requests.
- Interacts professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers and others in the course of daily work.
- Regular and timely attendance are required for this position.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Architecture or related field supplemented by two (2) years of experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Salary : $4,888 - $5,988
