As An HR Analyst II, You Will
- Compensation Program Administration: Conduct annual salary market studies, periodic job evaluations, perform system audits, make recommendations for salary offers and other pay mechanisms, assist with reclassification processes, and respond to and gather results from compensation related surveys to ensure competitive pay structures.
- Job Description Management: Format, write, and update job descriptions to accurately reflect roles and responsibilities.
- Compensation Policy Development: Review compensation program policies, guidelines, and pay practices.
- HR Research & Analysis: Conduct research on HR-related topics and provide data-driven recommendations for compensation strategies.
- Employee Training & Orientation: Assist in new hire orientation and deliver training on compensation policies.
- Cross-Training & Collaboration: Work closely with HRIS and across HR functions to support department-wide initiatives.
- Desk Manual Development & Maintenance: Create, update, and maintain desk manuals to document key compensation processes, ensuring consistency and knowledge retention across the team.
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Management: Assist in the process management of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for compensation-related tasks, ensuring clarity, compliance, and alignment with best practices.
- Customer Service Excellence: Provide outstanding support to City employees, agencies, municipalities, community partners, and vendors in alignment with department goals.
Relevant Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Principles and practices of job classification, evaluation, and compensation systems.
- Federal, state, and regional laws related to compensation, classification, and benefits.
- Employment laws such as the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (EPEWA), Colorado Wage Claim Act, Americans with Disabilities Act Amendment Act (ADAAA), Family and Medical Leave, and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) regulations.
- Methods and techniques for data collection, research, and report preparation.
- Analyze and interpret regulations, ordinances, and department policies related to compensation.
- Gather and compile data with accuracy and utilize data and technology to formulate results and support decision-making.
- Effectively collaborate with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
- Deliver clear and concise communication, both orally and in writing.
- Develop and deliver training sessions related to compensation and job classifications.
- Protect confidential information.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrate strong quantitative analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in human resources, business administration, public administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Three years of full-time professional analytical experience in human resources, compensation, or job classification management.
