PART TIME - Child Care Lead - Elementary Program
The purpose of this position is to support the City’s childcare programs by developing and implementing a safe, recreational, and educational-based program appropriate for the developmental needs of children. This position works directly with children, guardians, and program staff daily to track and evaluate the progress of the program.
Pre-employment Requirements: The job offer will be contingent upon successful completion of all background checks required by the State of Colorado including fingerprinting, Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and Child Abuse and Neglect Records Check (Trails), among other pre-employment assessments.
Open until filled.This is a .75 grant-funded position with the potential for extension and includes benefits.
Schedule (may vary within the time ranges below) will follow the Harrison School District #2 calendar:
- Before school hours
- Monday (school delayed start): 6:45 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
- Tuesday through Friday 6:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
- After school hours
- Monday-Friday 2:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
This is a grant-funded position with funding through June 2025 and the possibility of an extension.
Essential Job Functions - the basic job duties an employee must be able to perform:
- Lead and participate in a variety of age and developmentally-appropriate programs.
- Ensure the site complies with all licensing requirements by creating and communicating safety guidelines for staff and participants.
- Assist in selecting, training, and motivating assigned personnel, seasonal workers, and volunteers; and provide or coordinate staff training.
- Administer first aid if necessary.
- Create monthly calendars, communications, and newsletters to distribute to guardians, staff, and school personnel.
- Maintain daily records of program and participant behavior by conducting the participant check-in process.
- Purchase necessary program supplies and track expenditures.
- Attend any on-site audits or required department meetings.
- High school diploma or GED
- Have three years (5,460 hours) of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience working with school-age children
- Possess, or obtain upon hire, and maintain a valid, non-probationary Colorado driver’s license not subject to restriction related to alcohol and/or drug violations or pending charges
- Possess, or obtain within 30 days of hire, First Aid and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation certifications
One year of relevant work experience may be substituted for one year of required education (OR) one year of relevant academic coursework beyond the minimum requirement may be substituted for one year of required professional experience
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Experience working in a licensed school-age childcare environment
