The purpose of this job is to inspect construction methods of utility, transportation, and other engineering projects. Administers contracts and construction plans for engineering improvement and rehabilitation projects. Ensures projects conform to specifications, construction methods, and regulations.

- Inspects methods and materials used by contractors, ensuring conformity with project designs, plans, regulations, policies, and specifications.
- Administers contracts and construction plans for engineering improvement and rehabilitation projects.
- Enters and maintains data, including pay estimates, field reports, and as-built drawings.
- Communicates with public concerning neighborhood construction projects.
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- No supervisory authority. Work may require providing guidance and training to others.

Education and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered
Education and Experience
- Associate’s Degree or 2 years of college in Civil Technologies, Construction Management, Engineering, Drafting, or related field.
- 3 to 5 years of related experience.
Licenses or Certifications
- Valid driver’s license.
- MoDOT Concrete Technician – Concrete Field within six months of hire.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities which may be representative, but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this position
Knowledge of:
- Construction standards, inspection methods, and materials, tools, and equipment of building trades.
- Applicable standards and regulations pertaining to projects.
- Basic arithmetic and computational operations.

Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., occasional evenings or weekends may be required.
Starting Salary
$24.94/hr - $30.67/hr (minimum to midpoint); commensurate w/ education and experience
