THE POSITION
Under general supervision, provides supervisory level duties in support of Camp Commerce craft and recreational programs; supervises staff and activities of the Camp Commerce recreation programs; plans and coordinates recreation programs and events; and ensures programs are delivered in a safe manner.

- Plans, schedules, and coordinates a variety of Camp Commerce recreation programs, activities, athletic contests, sporting events, games, and special events; ensures activities are in compliance with all laws, policies, regulations, goals, and safety standards.
- Supervises, trains, and schedules staff; plans, prioritizes and assigns tasks; monitors program events, and recreation activities, and evaluates staff performance; ensures that staff adheres to policies and procedures for efficient and safe operations.
- Coordinates and oversees recreation programs, including special adult and children programs and events, special recreation sites, games and activities, classes, athletic contests, and sports programs; organizes and promotes alternative activities, and special programs suited to the needs of participants.
- Oversees the allocation, use, inventory, and maintenance of recreation equipment, materials, and other assets; inspects recreation program venues and sites; identifies conditions needing repair or maintenance, and requests maintenance services.
- Oversees Camp Commerce guests, and enforces rules and safety standards; leads program activities, and assists participants in recreation activities and special programs; reports and resolves complaints, requests, safety conditions, and security issues.
- Provides information and assistance to visitors and guests; resolves problems and customer service inquiries within scope of authority; recognizes, avoids, and reports unsafe acts, conditions, accidents and injuries.
- Operates a variety of transportation vehicles in accordance with all traffic laws, regulations and procedures; assists in maintaining general appearance of Camp facilities by cleaning areas in and around the facility, arranging equipment and other general maintenance duties.
- Performs daily vehicle inspection and cleaning prior to beginning service; ensures all required written reports are completed and submitted on a daily basis including, inspection reports, incident reports, accident reports, and operational problem reports; identifies and reports vehicle problems requiring additional maintenance and repair.
- Assists in maintaining general appearance of Camp facilities by cleaning areas in and around the facility, arranging equipment and any other general maintenance duties that may be required.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience :
High school diploma or equivalent GED.
Two (2) years of recreation program experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Required Licenses or Certifications :
Must obtain Class C with passenger endorsement within 90 day of appointment.
Must possess and maintain First Aid, AED and CPR certifications.
Special Requirements :
Must be available to work during camp operating hours including evening, weekend, and holidays.
May be required to work overtime.
Must maintain a level of physical fitness to meet Department standards.
Requires occasional travel.
Must pass a background investigation.

The City shall match employee deferred compensation contribution in an amount not to exceed 3% of the employee's gross salary contribution per pay period
