The Coral Springs Regional Institute of Public Safety is a division of The Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department who has a diverse work force who are dedicated to providing the highest level of professional service to our students, and community in which we serve. - Receives, unpacks, and stores goods, supplies, and spare parts in proper storage areas.
- Inspects quantity and quality of parts and supplies received for general conformity to prescribed specifications.
- Conduct repairs on items in-house when authorized by the manufacturer.
- Maintains adequate supply of spare parts for repair and maintenance of CSRIPS equipment.
- Maintains proper maintenance of records of inventory, receipt of goods, and issuance of stock.
- Prepares and submits for approval for needed supplies and parts.
- Develops efficient storage methods while keeping a clean storage area in compliance with fire code and accreditation.
- Organizes and participates in the taking of the CSRIPS physical inventory.
- Complete routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, annual maintenance, of equipment or schedule authorized maintenance.
- Prepares and monitors CSRIPS owned vehicle preventative maintenance and prepare records; delivers vehicles to the garage.
- Examples of equipment requiring annual maintenance are ladders, extrication equipment, SCBA compressor fill station, small engines, hose testing, gas meter calibration.
- Work with vendors and manufacturers on the warranty and repair of equipment.
- Maintains accurate records and paperwork, such as work orders, service logs, parts requests, and order forms.
- Recharges air cylinders, while evaluating the integrity of cylinders.
- Conducts annual post-check servicing of all Scott air packs
- Coordinates annual servicing of Bunker Gear through CSPFD Support Services.
- Conducts maintenance of Bunker Gear following live fire training in accordance with CSPFD standards.
- Performs related work assignments.
- Two (2) years of experience in semi-skilled laboring or maintenance work; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Must obtain all required repair technician certifications from the manufacturer of the SCBA equipment and air cylinders within six months of hire.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class D Florida Driver’s License.
- Forklift Certification preferred; not required
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Welding experience preferred; not required
- Fire Public Safety knowledge is a plus.
