What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parks and Recreation Attendant (Gymnasium) position at City of Coral Springs?
Under general supervision of the Athletic/Recreation Coordinators, the purpose of the position is to provide clerical and facility support to the assigned department.
Required conduct is to be ethical and fair while representing the City. Must be responsible to adhere to all workplace policies that support ethical business practices and standards of conduct including, but not limited to, polices on Gifts, Conflict of Employment, Discipline, Drug Free Workplace, Employment of Relatives, Formal Grievances, Anti-Harassment, Posting of Job Vacancies, Equal Employment Opportunity, Political Activity, and Recruitment and Selection.
Days/Hours: Varies Monday through Sunday, up to 25 hours a week; schedule will primarily include evenings and weekends, may also include holidays and rotating shifts.
Performs customer service functions; answers incoming telephone calls; provides assistance and information related to department programs, activities, procedures, forms, fees, or other issues; distributes activity schedules, registration forms, or other documents; responds to routine questions/complaints, researches problems, and initiates a resolution.
Receives moneys in payment of program/activity fees, deposits, or other fees/services: records transactions and issues receipts; forwards revenues as appropriate.
Maintains current schedule of all activities in the recreation center; processes athletic field permits; reserves use of meeting rooms, pavilions and/or other facilities by individuals/groups or for scheduled activities; updates and posts activity schedules and room reservation schedules.
Using the appropriate recreation computer software, registers individuals to participate in recreational programs/classes or utilize recreational facilities; reviews registration forms, applications and insurance certificate for use of facilities; collects appropriate fees; assists in creating participant rosters for each activity; maintains records of program registrations.
Monitors halls and pavilions, visiting and monitoring fields for permits.
Fill out frequent reporting to document field/facility usage.
Communicate with athletic representatives.
Serve as tournament liaisons.
The work is light work which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.
