What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forestry/Natural Resources Internship position at City of Cottage Grove?
The City of Cottage Grove seeks highly motivated and hardworking individuals to apply for this position. The interns will work directly with the City Forester on a multitude of tree and natural resources related projects throughout the community.

Season/Schedule: 40 hours per week. Spring through early fall.

The mission of the Cottage Grove Forestry division is to monitor, care for and maintain all trees within the city's urban forest. To fulfill this mission, a combination of maintenance, monitoring, disease control, replacement, and public outreach are all techniques used to promote tree growth in the community. The interns will gain experience in tree inventory, installation, pruning, maintenance, disease control (Emerald Ash Borer, Oak Wilt, etc.) monitoring, inspections, safety techniques, planning and design. Emerald Ash Borer Management program will be a primary focus on the 2025 internship program.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- Limited to students in Forestry, Natural Resources or related studies.
Salary : $19 - $22
