What are the responsibilities and job description for the Starter/Ranger- Golf Course position at City of Cottage Grove?
River Oaks Golf Course has openings for starters, rangers and course marshals. This position provides excellent customer service to patrons using our facility. Must be able to work nights and/or weekends.
- Start playing groups from the first tee ensuring groups get out in the correct order at their tee time
- Understand pace of play, outside beverage and course conduct policies and hold players accountable to these policies while on the premises.
- Communicate to problem groups and players in a respectful manner
- Assist with leagues and tournaments.
- Ensure that patrons are satisfied with the golf experience. Provide excellent customer service on the golf course.
- Answer questions regarding services and products the golf course provides.
- Communicate with Pro Shop employees and other starter/ranger on pace of play and any on course issues during shift
- Perform various duties as assigned by management.
- Knowledge and passion for the game of golf.
- Strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of laws concerning the service and use of intoxicating liquor.
- Must have outstanding customer service skills.
- Must be able to handle any on course issues concerning pace of play, outside beverage and unacceptable on course conduct to ensure all playing groups enjoy their experience while being respectful and professional.
- Must be able to stand for multiple hours and lift up to, but not limited to 50 lbs.
- Must present a professional image.
- Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with elected officials, employees and the public.
Salary : $11 - $13
