ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Swim Lesson Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordinating, and execution of swim lessons for participants of all ages and skill levels. This role involves managing lesson schedules, coordinating instructors, and ensuring the safety and quality of instruction in compliance with organizational standards. Responsible for organizing class size ensuring proper instructor-to-student ratios. Assign instructors to classes. Act as primary point of contact for parents, participants, and staff regarding swim lessons inquiries, and resolve any concern or issues regarding lessons, instructors, or scheduling in a timely and professional manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 15 years of age. Must be a certified Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, Swim American Coach or able to obtain by June 1, 2020. May be required to successfully pass a post-job offer drug screening and background check.
SKILLS:
Knowledge of pool policies, schedules, programs, and procedures. Must possess strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain working relationships with program participants, fellow employees, and the public preferred. Knowledge of swim lesson programming.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience coordinating swim programs a plus. The ability to obtain swim lesson instructor certification is a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to properly demonstrate swimming skills to the Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Level 4 standard. May be required to lift 50 lbs.
MENTAL DEMANDS:
Ability to maintain composure and act responsibly in stressful situations. Must maintain a positive, encouraging attitude.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to work outdoors with prolonged exposure to sun, heat, and pool water. Occasional inclement weather such as cold, and rain may be encountered.
