Recreation Assistant / Lake Rogers

The City of Creedmoor is seeking a part-time Recreation Assistant to assist with operations at Lake Rogers Park and Marina.

This position is responsible for opening and closing Lake Rogers Park Concessions, and monitoring and supporting the activities of the public within these spaces. Activities in these spaces include, but are not limited to, 1) use of the playground, 2) private shelter rentals, 3) use of boat launch, piers, and lakefront 4) concession sales and boat launches/rentals, 5) public restrooms. This position enforces policies governing facility use, maintains accident/incident reports and daily logs, and may be required to deliver emergency First Aid. This position also supports Public Works and Recreation Department staff to ensure minimum standards for cleanliness, accessibility, and safety are maintained in the park at all times. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Recreation Director.

Recreation Assistants are required to work a minimum of two shifts per week on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays, April 12 thru October 17, 2025, and additional shifts on Holidays; applicants may request up to one weekend off per month (dates must be submitted at time of interview). Anticipated shifts are 11:30 am-7:30 pm on Fridays, 9:30 am-7:30 pm on Saturdays, and 9:30 am-7:30 pm on Sundays; additional early morning (7-10 am) and late evening (5-9 pm) hours are possible for special events and programs. Start times may be adjusted for Friday shifts during the school year if required.

Requirements

Graduation from, or enrollment in, high school or GED equivalency. Must be 18 years old by April 12, 2025.

Applicants must be comfortable working around water and wildlife and in the outdoors. Work regularly lifting 50 lbs and manipulating boats in and out of the water.

Successful candidates must be responsible and possess the ability to work independently required. Possession of a valid NC driver’s license with a clean driving record, and the ability to pass a routine physical exam, pre-employment drug screening, and criminal background check are also required.

The selected candidates must obtain Red Cross (or approved equivalent) pediatric, child, and adult first aid, CPR, and AED certification prior to employment.

Salary
Hiring rate is $13.25/hour. Benefit Family Enhanced Membership to Creedmoor Community Center. This is an unbenefited position.
