Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to supervise the Dielmann Recreation Complex, which includes, but is not limited to, running the cash register during public sessions, setting up rooms for events, and general cleaning of the facility, which includes two meeting rooms, a lobby, and locker rooms. This position is also responsible for ice scrapes, and operation of equipment utilized for maintenance of the ice surface.

This position offers 10-24 hours per week, primarily working evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

Perform ice scrapes between activities. Experience is not required, as training is available.
Supervise and set-up for activities both on the ice rink and in meeting rooms.
Maintain cleanliness of the facility, which includes but is not limited to : wiping down tables, chairs, counters, and windows. Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors and benches. Stocking and maintaining clean restrooms, emptying trash receptacles, and delegation of tasks to subordinate employees.
Run the cash register and count the cash drawer during public sessions.
Provide rental equipment as required, and maintain order and cleanliness of the skate shop.
Provide information to users of the Dielmann Recreation Complex and Ice Rink.
Unlock and secure the complex as required.
Complete other duties as necessary and as assigned by the Recreation Director and / or Supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must be at least 18 years of age in order to operate the ice re-surfacer.

Ability to read and follow written direction.

Basic computer and cash register skills.

Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with customers and staff.

Willingness to participate in trainings such as First Aid and CPR when offered.

Physical Requirements :

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for short distances.

Ability to climb up and down from the Olympia ice re-surfacer.

Ability to stoop, bend, climb, and crawl as needed to adequately perform the duties as listed above.

Working Conditions

Work is primarily done in an indoor ice rink facility setting, which results in considerable exposure to cold temperatures (35-50 degrees Fahrenheit).

Flexible weekday evening and weekend hours, two to four days per week.
