Under the direction of the Fleet & Facility Superintendent, this individual is responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled and skilled building maintenance tasks for City-owned buildings, including cleaning, routine preventative maintenance, painting, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC repair, lighting, minor electrical work, and recordkeeping. Snow/ice control duties during the winter months is required. The position requires a professional and courteous manner when dealing with the public, vendors, contractors and other City employees.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. Some weekend or night hours may be required, as circumstances dictate for building maintenance, or when winter weather requires snow/ice control work.Candidates should have a valid Illinois CDL Class B driver's license or the ability to obtain one in six (6) months. This position is part of a collective bargaining unit. Salary range for this position is $27.16 to $33.40 (depending on qualifications) with a comprehensive benefit package, including participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund pension plan.The selected finalist must pass a pre-employment criminal background check, reference check, and a post-offer medical physical with a drug screen.
