What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Works Spring Seasonal position at City of Crystal Lake?
The City of Crystal Lake Public Works Department seeks motivated individuals for Spring Seasonal Staff to work between 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, approximately mid-March, 2025 through early May, 2025. The number of workdays per week and/or hours can be flexible for candidates not available every weekday.
General Responsibilities:
The individual in this position will be responsible for assisting with operating, flushing and repairs of City fire hydrants. This position will assist full time staff and be responsible for the safe operation of equipment as well as traffic control set up.
Position Requirements:
Must be knowledgeable in hand tools, vehicle operations, and have a safe work ethic.
Must also be able to follow instructions to complete flushing and inspection of fire hydrants. Also responsible for keeping track of time, materials, and job progress. Must have previous iPad or tablet experience.
All work is outdoor and could include inclement weather.
The successful candidate will possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License and be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must also be able to successfully pass a pre-employment medical exam, including a drug screen, and criminal background check.
Individuals that have partial work week availability will be considered.
Salary:
The salary for this seasonal position is $18.00 per hour.
