Overview
The Information Technology Asset Administrator monitors, maintains, supports, and administers the Information Technology asset management database for the City and its departments.
Essential Functions
Participates, engages, and collaborates in the acquisition and disposal processes of IT assets to ensure appropriate tracking and handling throughout the asset's lifecycle; works with various departments to ensure appropriate asset management and handling.
2 Performs periodic audits of the asset management database to verify accuracy and take appropriate action to correct any discrepancies; prepares documentation to disclose and communicate information discovered in various audits.
3 Reconciles the asset management database with the City's financial system; manages, oversees, and administers purchased software license inventory to ensure that the City is properly licensed.
4 Participates in, supports, and coordinates any internal or external software audits.
5 Develops and distributes hardware and software metrics and inventory reports to assist management in budget and purchase decision making.
6 Identifies and determines opportunities for process improvement and contributes to the development of processes and procedures.
7 Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of administrative duties within the IT procurement and inventory management function.
2 Knowledge maintaining records and databases containing information regarding licenses, warranties, and service agreements for the organization's hardware and software
3 Knowledge of spreadsheet analysis, reporting preparation, and research using Advantage Financial Systems (AFS) and Pinnacle or other Asset management tools.
4 Ability to participate in all internal and external audits
5 Ability to identify opportunities for process improvements
6 Ability to contribute to the development of processes and procedures.
7 Ability to use software asset inventory tools.
8 Ability to manage IT assets in databases and software license inventory to ensure the City is properly licensed.
9 Ability to reconcile the asset management database with the City's financial system
10 Ability to develop inventory reports to assist in management in budgeting and purchasing decisions.
11 Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.
12 Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in an information systems/ technology, computer science, engineering or information technology related field.
EXPERIENCE.
- Three (3) years of experience in an IT technical role which must have included experience with maintaining the IT asset management database.
EQUIVALENCIES:
- High school diploma/GED plus seven (7) years of the required experience will meet the education and experience requirements.
- Associate degree in a specified field plus five (5) years of the required experience will meet the education and experience requirements.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a non-specified field plus five (5 years of the required experience will meet the education and experience requirements.
- Master's degree or higher in a specified field plus one (1) year of the required experience will meet the education and experience requirements
- A Certification or License in IT Asset Management will substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- No FELONY or Class A misdemeanor convictions.
- No Class B misdemeanor conviction within the last ten (10) years.
- No family violence convictions
- Cannot currently be on deferred adjudication for any felony, class A misdemeanor or class B misdemeanor charge.
Salary Range
$60,538.39 - $75,672.99
