Position Summary
The City of Dania Beach is committed to employing a talented and diverse workforce. We are currently seeking a CIP & Grants Administrator to join our dynamic Public Services Department. The ideal individual will perform high-level administrative work in project management : organizing, prioritizing, tracking, and supporting the progress of various capital projects and grants throughout the City. CIP projects will include but not be limited to water distribution and water treatment, sewer, streets and stormwater, vertical construction, Parks and Recreation Master Plan, Dania Beach Redevelopment, pier, landscape and environmental compliance and oversee citywide grant administration and compliance. Duties & Responsibilities
- Must have project management, financial knowledge and experience in the following areas, roadway maintenance and repair, water distribution and treatment, storm water construction and maintenance, landscaping, environmental regulations, facilities / construction, and project management.
- Assist and make recommendations for the preparation and implementation City's CIP budget, with particular emphasis on Public Services related projects.
- Responsible for closely monitoring CIP expenditures, working with both project managers and the Finance Department. Recommend corrective action when project expenditure rates lead to cost overrun projection.
- Assist project managers with review and approval of change orders as needed.
- Participate along with city staff and consultants as needed, in the preparation of bid specifications for outside vendors and contractors.
- Recommends to the City Manager and the Director of Public Services capital projects for Commission approval.
- Prepare and assist in making presentations before the City Commission and Commission Committees on matters pertaining to the CIP when assigned.
- Conducts research of available federal, state, and private foundation grants, and disseminates the availability to appropriate departments.
- Oversee grant administration as it pertains to the CIP; assists with grant application as feasible, and submits grant application, reports, etc.
- Represents the City at meetings with other government and private entities regarding information about grants.
- Assists departments with maintenance of grant files.
- Monitor and ensure compliance of CIP related grant expenditures.
- Assist with preparation for Federal and State audits and site visits.
- Prepares, documents and makes recommendations to Administration and various department heads about CIP related grant programs.
- Provides technical assistance to departments in grant research, writing, and analysis.
- Provide frequent updates on projects and grants, ranging from comprehensive to detailed (as required) to the Public Services Director and Assistant Director.
- Provides assistance to the Capital Project Managers in planning and coordinating projects.
- Confers with and provides technical and / or general administrative assistance to other City departments in terms of CIP and grants.

Do you have a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university?
Do you have seven (7) years of full time progressive and responsible professional experience in project management, financial knowledge and experience in the following areas : roadway maintenance and repair, water distribution and treatment of storm water construction and maintenance?
Do you possess a valid FL Driver's License with a good driving record? If driver's license is out of state, applicant must be able to obtain a Florida driver's license within thirty (30) days of hire.
Do you have five (5) years of full time professional experience in implementation and preparation of CIPS on a municipal wide level?
Do you have advanced skills in Excel spreadsheets and databases and project management software?
