What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transit Driver I or II (Full Time) position at City of Danville?
Provide public transportation service for the general public which is limited to reservation-based operations; run related transportation operations, including the Reserve A Ride service, Handivan Service and the Senior Transportation Program; transport, drop off and pick up individuals at their designated house address, medical appointments, and other trip origins and destinations and provide quality customer service.

NON-PHYSICAL DEMANDS
MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE
Typically requires use of standard office equipment and telephone/radio, and related software and hardware; and any other tools and equipment as appropriate or as assigned, such as wheelchair lift.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This work is performed in a vehicle environment, where there may be exposure to extreme temperatures seasonally; wetness/humidity monthly, and rare exposure to communicable diseases, physical danger or abuse.
The employee must wear appropriate protective equipment for the assigned task (hard hat, safety vest, steel-toe shoes, etc.), and any other equipment as apparent or assigned, if any.

- Provides transportation to the general public based on scheduled reservations, which involves boarding and disembarking passengers within the City limits.
- Provides door to door service for persons with disabilities.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- Attends meetings and training sessions.
- Performs additional duties to support operational requirements as assigned.
- Light physical effort, exerting up to 20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly or requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
- Constant sitting, vision, hearing, talking to use computer, telephone and communicate effectively with others, and to maintain operational awareness of surroundings.
- Occasional crawling, pushing/pulling, handling, crouching, bending.
- Rarely standing, walking, reaching, fine dexterity, kneeling.
NON-PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Responsible for appropriate use and maintenance of City equipment, tools and other resources, including work time.
- Regular and predictable attendance is expected.
- May occasionally experience frequent change of tasks.
- May rarely experience time pressure, emergency situations, irregular work schedule/overtime, working closely with others as part of a team, noisy/distracting environment.
