What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transit Driver I or II (Part-time) position at City of Danville?
Provide public transportation service for the general public which is limited to reservation-based operations; run related transportation operations, including the Reserve A Ride service, Handivan Service and the Senior Transportation Program; transport, drop off and pick up individuals at their designated house address, medical appointments, and other trip origins and destinations and provide quality customer service.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES
High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent in level of knowledge, with ability to read and understand written instructions, to understand simple processes and the routine operations of machines, and under and including one year of experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the specific requirements listed above

Typically requires use of standard office equipment and telephone/radio, and related software and hardware; and any other tools and equipment as appropriate or as assigned, such as wheelchair lift.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This work is performed in a vehicle environment, where there may be exposure to extreme temperatures seasonally; wetness/humidity monthly, and rare exposure to communicable diseases, physical danger or abuse.
The employee must wear appropriate protective equipment for the assigned task (hard hat, safety vest, steel-toe shoes, etc.), and any other equipment as apparent or assigned, if any.

- Provides transportation to the general public based on scheduled reservations, which involves boarding and disembarking passengers within the City limits.
- Provides door to door service for persons with disabilities.

- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record according to City criteria
- A Commercial Driver’s License is not required for this position since the driver will be restricted from operating vehicles with a seating capacity of 16 or more passengers
