Definition
Under direct supervision, this role supports outreach, recruitment, and retention for the City of Davenport Summer Youth Corps program. Responsibilities include planning and implementing the program with the AmeriCorps Program Supervisor, recruiting and onboarding members, coordinating community service projects, developing training materials and schedules, maintaining program records, and performing other related duties.
Examples Of Duties
- Plans and assists with scheduling and completing necessary work to conduct Youth Corps programs
- Assists with recruitment and onboarding of Youth Corps members
- Coordinates service projects for Youth Corps members
- Collaborates with community service agencies
- Develops in-service training topics for professional development and job readiness for Youth Corps members
- Provides direct supervision for Youth Corps members when offsite
- Records and verifies Youth Corps member timekeeping
- Assists in performance evaluations for Youth Corps members
- Adheres to all safety practices and procedures and attends all training as required
- Performs other related duties as required
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent plus two (2) years of experience in program coordination, youth mentorship or community engagement, or Associate’s Degree in education, social work or related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the required work in this position.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain throughout duration of employment.
- Must pass a background check as prescribed by the City of Davenport and AmeriCorps program.
