Responsibilities
The Information Systems Supervisor ensures that all enterprise information system platforms are functional, stable and secure, including applications, network, databases, operating systems and servers that support the core organizational functions in addition to the oversight of the datacenter facility. The role is a 24/7/365 internal support agency and the incumbent must be willing and able to be "on call" to provide guidance, support and supervision to staff as needed. As a member of the management staff, the Information Systems Supervisor provides periodic status updates to the Division Manager on tasks/projects that are assigned to the various systems engineers.
In this role, the incumbent assists in the development of strategies and implementation plans for the delivery of new technologies and/or enhancement of existing technologies. Additionally, the Information Systems Supervisor validates the organizational, technical, and economic feasibility of new technology initiatives for improving technology functionality and usability. The incumbent will evaluate currently deployed services and develop plans to optimize delivery and support mechanisms. The incumbent will also assess technology platforms to ensure reliability, availability, security, performance, efficiency, justification, regulatory compliance, infrastructure capacity and short/long term planning, constraints, and objectives.
The Information System Supervisor oversees all technology infrastructure components and is responsible for assisting in the establishment and achievement of setting the vision, direction and execution of work to successfully manage operating systems, security, applications, database support, backup and recovery, data integrity, network planning and analyses, storage monitoring and planning, and internet and intranet web monitoring, traffic and support. Additionally, the Information Systems Supervisor establishes and maintains professional working relationships between the department and various internal and external stakeholders and represents the department in project and/or business meetings and engagements.
Incumbents in this role assist in the development of programs, systems and/or computing infrastructure; this encompasses programming existing and new systems and/or configuring existing or new computing environments to better satisfy business needs. Incumbents will additionally administer the components of the datacenter facility by developing and overseeing implementation strategies for environmental monitoring control including security and hazard prevention (i.e. power, fire, water detection, and HVAC).
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, management information systems or a related field AND 5 years of experience in information technology as a systems engineer, systems analyst, GIS coordinator, or database manager AND 2 years of experience as a manager, supervisor, project manager or team lead;
OR
Associate's degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, management information systems or a related field AND 7 years of experience in information technology as a systems engineer, systems analyst, GIS coordinator, or database manager AND 3 years of experience as a manager, supervisor, project manager or team lead.
Degree must be from a college or university that is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education through the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools Higher Learning Commission or equivalent region.
Certifications
Must have at a minimum two (2) of the following certifications within 6 months of appointment:
Must possess a valid driver's license at time of appointment and maintain thereafter as a term and condition of continued employement.
