DEFINITION :
The purpose of this job / class within the organization is to provide efficient and effective service and organization to the Fire Department. This job / class works under close supervision according to set procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Not all-inclusive) :
Conducts weekly inventory of all EMS and station supplies at all fire stations; checks all medications and supplies to ensure within expiration dates listed. Warehouses all inventory items; receives and replenishes stock. Conducts inspections of all Bunker Gear per NFPA requirements; handles repair and replacement of all protective gear; conducts cleaning all per NFPA specifications, as needed. Retrieves used medical supplies including backboards, straps, and immobilization equipment from hospitals. Enters, retrieves, reviews and modifies data; utilizes word processing, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, databases, graphics, or other software programs for keeping accurate records of supplies and gear. Provides logistical support to emergency scenes including brush fires, structural fires, and hurricanes.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES :
Assists in tagging all City property for fixed asset tracking purposes. Assists in maintaining an adequate inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment. Assists in interpreting job work orders to determine the nature of work to be performed; schedules work and completes work orders on a timely basis. Distributes uniforms, supplies, and equipment. Performs related work as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent.
Experience in warehousing, logistics or closely related experience preferred
Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic preferred.
Fire Department experience preferred.
Knowledge of Operative IQ preferred.

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS :
Requires a driver's license valid in the State of Florida.
Veteran Preference in appointment will be given to those eligible.
