Responsible for managing, coordinating, implementing, validating, and completing specific IT projects ensuring consistency with the City's IT strategy, service-level commitments, and goals.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

DUTIES
- Record detailed customer requirements, constraints, and assumptions to establish the project deliverables.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and/or acquire resources, coordinate team and/or third-party service effort, define objectives, and monitor progress and quality control to achieve project goals.
- Draft and submit budget proposals; recommend subsequent budget adjustments, as needed.
- Conduct initial project kick-off meeting(s) with all stakeholders to start the project and review overall project plan.
- Communicate project expectations to project team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Monitor, assess, and determine need for additional project staff and/or consultants; ensure the appropriate personnel resources are identified for the project cycle.
- Create, track, and forecast changes in project budgets.
- Monitor overall progress and burn rate of resources; initiate corrective action, as needed.
- Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path; apply change control and configuration management processes, as needed.
- Assist with managing project risks; identify, develop, and implement contingency plans to achieve project success.
- Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools; meet with stakeholders to assure the overall direction and integrity of the project.
- Conduct a post-project evaluation review, assess how the project was managed and provide recommendations for future project process improvements.
- Develop, maintain, and provide requirement documentation, process reports and end-stage assessments; create proposals and presentations, as needed.

- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field; and,
- Six (6) years’ experience in project management, or related field,

- Any combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job.

- Knowledge of project management software tools, such as Microsoft Project Server and Microsoft Project, Microsoft desktop operating systems, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of project risk management techniques.
- Skill in organizing resources, establishing priorities, and establishing schedules.
- Skill in analyzing and researching, to interpret and understand policies, laws, and regulations, and to provide workable recommendations and solutions that maintain compliance.

- Must pass a drug test, driver’s license check, criminal history background check and social security number verification.
- Must attend and successfully complete the City’s Defensive Driving Course (DDC) as soon as possible after employment (if required to drive City vehicle or personal vehicle for City business).
- Must possess and maintain a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
- Must meet civilian hiring standards of the Denton Police Department.
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment; ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting and climbing; operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
- Promptly report unsafe conditions in the work area and/or any conditions that are not immediately correctable to the supervisor.
