What are the responsibilities and job description for the Motor Equipment Operator I - Sanitation position at City of Dover?
The City of Dover is currently seeking applicants for the position of Motor Equipment Operator I in the Sanitation Division of Public Works Department. The primary duties of this position is to perform labor in support of City operations within the Sanitation Division., which involve a variety of semi-skilled tasks associated with the collection and transportation of municipal solid waste.
Job Responsibilities
· Operate motor equipment to transport materials, tools, equipment, or personnel to job sites, load or haul dirt, or pick up debris from job sites.
· Operate equipment such as trash/refuse pick up, snow removal, or other specialized operations
· Complete job-related logs and forms
· Overtime is required as needed
· Ability to perform medium to heavy work lifting up to 75 pounds on a frequent basis
Required Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED is required
· Minimum of six (6) months of related experience preferred
· Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), or the ability to obtain a CDL permit within two (2) months and CDL license within six (6) months is required
· Pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical associated with the CDL
· Pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
